What makes your products or services unique? What will people get from your business that they won’t get elsewhere?

Pittsburgh-based Glenn Olcerst is a sculptor creating thousand-piece “stone paintings” for high-end residential, hospitality, maritime, and executive interiors. The meticulous process pioneered and perfected by Glenn– in which infinitesimallly small segments of exotic marbles, onyx or granite are carved, rather than cut, by hand — results in dynamic geometric patterns, depictions of historic architecture, and stylized human figures. Each is one-of-a-kind ultra lightweight artwork ready to hang on the wall.

Glenn Olcerst is also a fine art photographer offering ethereal images for high-end residential, hospitality, maritime, and executive interiors. Building his own lenses and filters, he creates abstractions so unique they are often mistaken for paintings. These are then printed on brushed metal and coated in high gloss, enhancing colors and bouncing the light for luminous effect. His ultra high-contrast black and white works resemble pencil drawings, achieved with pioneering low speed film techniques and proprietary chemicals.

What inspires your work?

My Stone Art is inspired by making something beautiful out of nothing. I enjoy the challenge of bringing the stone to life and polishing it to 3000 grit. The photography is pure joy!
